Educated in Scotland and at Cheltenham College, John served in the British Army and subsequently joined Savills, where he gained an invaluable insight into London's most sought after post codes. His knowledge and understanding of the prime central London market has been essential to the success of his developments.
John was the first to recognise the insatiable appetite, from a widespread international market, for a quality of residential product that retains the character of London's past. His first acquisition and flagship scheme at Observatory Gardens in Kensington set the tone for a new breed of "revival" developments, achieving ground breaking standards of quality whilst generating new levels of premium value. A further seven of London's finest new addresses, including Tregunter Road, The Bromptons, Earls Terrace, The Phillimores, Kings Chelsea, Park Street and more recently, The Lancasters - Hyde Park, were pioneered under John's stewardship.
Crucial to the success of these large scale developments has been John’s ability to significantly outperform local values, thereby generating 20 year consolidated returns for equity investors in excess of 32% IRR.
